About Pack 451

Cub Scouts Pack 451 Grayslake IL

What’s Pack 451?
Pack 451 is a group of about 50 K-5th grade children based in Grayslake with most of the scouts enrolled at Woodview, Meadowview, and Avon schools. The Pack is divided into dens according to year in school. Scouts are always assigned to dens with kids their age regardless of past participation in Scouts.

What do Cub Scouts do?

Dens work on age appropriate achievements in order to earn belt loops and eventually their rank insignia. The Pack also has optional activities throughout the year such as the Pinewood Derby, bike rally, rocket launch, community service projects, camp outs, and pack meetings. All together it works out to around 3 evenings a month.  Cub Scouts is a family activity. Dads, Moms, siblings, and grandparents are always invited to participate with their scout.

How much does it cost?
Cost for new members is $160. This covers your national BSA registration fee, Pack dues, uniform patches, neckerchief, and rank handbook. Additional activities such as camping may require a small participation fee.
What about popcorn, where does that money go?
Pack 451 offers the “451 Club”. Sell $450 worth of popcorn in the fall and the Pack will cover your registration fee with the BSA nationally as well as purchase your scout's belt loops, neckerchief, and patches. Reach $650 in popcorn sales and your scout's activity fees will be waived.
